Invitation to the international program of the 1. Elte Workshop for Arts Education. The purpose of the event is to present the innovations and research results in the field of arts education, to strengthen the relations between the experts of the different branches of arts and to help organize new research and development programs.

For the “Creative Open – Show your Idea!” contest the representatives of the Umbrella Budapest-New York, Republic Group, Mito + the buddies, Isobar, TED, Forbes Hungary, HPS Group and Creative were waiting for the best ideas. Dóra Komporday presented the “Be STEAM” experience-based education methodology developed for children in the MOME Digital Craft Lab, and brought home two special prizes of the jury:
- an interview in the FORBES magazine
- an occasion for presentation at the TEDxYouth@Budapest event in November
With their joint “Be STEAM!” application the MOME Digital Craft Lab and the Zugligeti School got into the circle of establishments supported by the GE Additive Education Program and won the following educational package:

- XYZprinting 3D printer
- STEAMtrax License
- Polar Farm Access
Emese Orban | Winner in Street Furniture Design Category, 2016 – 2017.
Emese Orbán’s ConcreteCube material combination experiments first won her the opportunity to exhibit at the successful TALENTE Munich, then she also won the international A’design Award in the Street Furniture Design Category. Her primary purpose for creating experimental shapes was to explore the potential of concrete and to explore new innovative approaches to the material.
As a result of the “BUDAPEST STEAM – The city is a classroom” project the MOME Digital Craft Lab got the opportunity to participate in the international workshop sponsored by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The purpose of this workshop was to present innovative and sustainable financing models for social enterprises and community initiatives to make their projects sustainable and more easily expandable.
The Government of Hungary has classified the university as a major higher education institution. Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design was awarded with the title of “University of National Excellence” by the Hungarian Government for the period of 2013-2016. The management of the university then selected the projects forthe excellence subsidy through an internal tender procedure. The MOME Digital Craft Lab successfully applied for the excellence subsidy with its programs through several semesters. With regard to the utilization of the subsidy the following priorities were taken into consideration:
- social commitment
- transfer of knowledge and technology
- basic research
